Kutaisi is Georgia's second city and the home of a busy international airport, so many of our guests start here. It is also the perfect base for the region's natural wonders, most of them less than an hour away.
In one day you can walk through a lit-up cave, float down a turquoise canyon and stand on a walkway hanging over the forest. We pick you up from Kutaisi Airport or your hotel and link the stops so you are never rushing.

Gelati Monastery
A UNESCO World Heritage monastery founded in 1106 by King David the Builder, famous for its golden mosaics and wall paintings.
Prometheus Cave
A huge cave with colourful lighting, underground rivers and giant stalactites. The walking route is about 1.4 km, with a boat ride option.
Sataplia Nature Reserve
Real dinosaur footprints under a protective roof, a cave and a glass balcony over the forest. Kids love it.
Martvili Canyon
Turquoise water between mossy rock walls. Take a short boat ride into the canyon and walk the trails to the small waterfalls.
Okatse Canyon
A metal walkway fixed to the canyon wall, with a platform hanging over a deep drop. Great for anyone who likes a little thrill.
Kinchkha Waterfall
One of the tallest waterfalls in Georgia, falling from a green cliff. A short walk from the parking area, easy to add to an Okatse visit.
How a day with us looks
- 09:00 — Pickup in Kutaisi or from Kutaisi Airport.
- 09:30 — Prometheus Cave: a 1.4 km walk past stalactites and underground lakes.
- 11:30 — Sataplia: dinosaur footprints, a cave and a glass viewing platform.
- 13:00 — Lunch with Imeretian khachapuri (cheese bread).
- 14:30 — Martvili Canyon: boat ride through the turquoise water.
- 16:30 — Okatse Canyon walkway or Kinchkha Waterfall if you still have energy.
- 18:30 — Back to Kutaisi.
Good to know
- Both caves stay cool all year, around 14°C. Bring a light jacket even in summer.
- Martvili Canyon boat rides can stop after heavy rain when the water is too high. We check before we go.
- Okatse Canyon involves about 2 km of forest walking each way. There is an optional jeep for part of the path.
- Gelati and Bagrati are active churches. Shoulders and knees should be covered.
- We can combine Kutaisi with a transfer to Batumi or Tbilisi on the same day.
