Sea, city and green mountains in one place
Batumi is Georgia's summer capital. The boulevard runs for kilometres along the Black Sea, the evenings are warm and lively, and the modern skyline sits next to a cosy old town.
Just outside the city, the hills of Adjara are covered in thick forest, tea plantations and waterfalls. We can pick you up in Batumi, drive you there from Tbilisi or Kutaisi, and show you both the sea and the mountains.

Places we take you in Batumi & Adjara
Alphabet Tower
A 130 m tower wrapped in the letters of the Georgian alphabet, with a viewing deck at the top. Lit up in colour at night.
Ali & Nino Statue
Two steel figures that slowly move toward each other, pass through and move apart again, based on a famous love story. Come after dark.
Piazza & Old Town
An Italian-style square with a clock tower, cafés and live music, surrounded by the pretty streets of the old town.
Orta Jame Mosque
Batumi's central mosque, built in the 19th century, with a green dome and a friendly community. Open for daily prayers.
Batumi Botanical Garden
A huge garden founded in 1912 on a hill above the sea, with plants from around the world. Plan at least two hours.
Makhuntseti Waterfall
A tall waterfall right next to the road into the mountains. Easy to reach, even with small children.
Queen Tamar Bridge
A graceful medieval stone arch bridge over the green river, a short walk from the waterfall.
Mtirala National Park
Deep, wet forest with walking trails, a waterfall and a small lake. One of the rainiest places in Georgia, and one of the greenest.
Gonio Fortress
Roman-era fortress walls in a quiet garden near the sea, one of the oldest sites on the coast.
How a day with us looks
- 10:00 — Pickup from your hotel in Batumi.
- 10:30 — Batumi Botanical Garden on the Green Cape, with views over the sea.
- 13:00 — Lunch by the sea. Batumi has many halal restaurants.
- 14:30 — Drive into the Adjara mountains to Makhuntseti Waterfall and the old Queen Tamar Bridge.
- 16:30 — Back in the city: Europe Square and the Piazza.
- 19:00 — Sunset on the boulevard, the Alphabet Tower and Ali & Nino lit up at night.
Good to know
- Batumi is one of the rainiest cities in Georgia, even in summer. A light raincoat is a good idea, and we always have a plan B.
- The beaches are pebbly, not sandy. Water shoes make swimming more comfortable.
- The Orta Jame mosque in the old town holds daily and Friday prayers.
- Batumi is close to the Turkish border at Sarpi, about 20 minutes away. We can arrange transfers.
